Welcome to The Borders Bike Room.
My name is Jack. I am a keen cyclist, bikepacker, and father of 2 young boys. I started the Borders Bike Room back in May 2024 with the goal of saving bikes from the dump or rusting away in garages.
I run a bike shop in Galashiels, Scottish Borders and I work from home in my ‘bike room’ which I somehow managed to get my wife to agree to…

I provide bike servicing and bike repairs and I also refurbish bikes for children to give parents like myself a more affordable way of keeping their child pedalling as they grow up.
The question I ask when finishing work on a bike is this: "Would I ride it? Would I let my kids ride it?"
Second hand bikes for sale at The Borders Bike Room are fully serviced and safety checked. If new parts are required they are fitted. The goal is to provide high quality second hand bikes that are safe and ready to ride at a more affordable price than buying new.
Depending on the condition / type of bike you currently have for you or your child I will also consider trading in your old bike against the cost of a bike you are buying. Don’t let it go in the bin or get rusty.
